Lloyd Thomas' Obituary
Lloyd David Thomas was born to Walter and Audrey Thomas on December 26, 1935. He attended elementary school at the White Country School House, south of Allerton and graduated from Allerton High School in 1955. He served in the Army from August 1955 to November 1958. He was stationed in Korea for 18 months. Lloyd married Bonnie Niday in September 1959. He and Bonnie had two daughters, Dea and Frankie. After his discharge from the Army, he worked for Wayne County, did construction work for Jerry O'Dell, owned the Standard Station in Allerton, and worked for the Allerton Gas Company. Lloyd also worked construction for Keith Kent and later Kevin Kent and enjoyed traveling to different states with the Kent crew. After his retirement he enjoyed helping Jared Chambers. Lloyd was very active in the Allerton American Legion and the Allerton Fire Department where he held the office as Fire Chief for several years. Preceding him in death were his parents, Walter and Audrey Thomas, an infant brother, and brother Larry Thomas. Lloyd is survived by his wife Bonnie, daughters Dea Thomas and friend Mike Neilling and Frankie and Alec Horton, grandchildren Cerena and Tony Stevens, Abbie, Jessie and Ethan Horton, and two very special great granddaughters Addyson and Emmalynn Stevens. Other survivors include his brother Leland Thomas and wife Gayle of Sherwood, Arkansas, sisters Nelma Hysell and Judy Lazell of Allerton, sister-in-law Mary Ann (Thomas) Christensen of Ogden, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.
