Lloyd W. Andeway's Obituary
Lloyd W. Andeway, age 96, of Promise City, Iowa, and a former resident of Centerville, Iowa, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012, at Continental Care Center in Seymour, Iowa. He was born the son of Bastian and Hulda (Wymore) Andeway on December 15, 1916 in Rose Hill, Iowa. He attend the What Cheer Community Schools in What Cheer, Iowa.He served his country during WWII in the United States Army from September of 1942 until his honorable discharge in February 1946. On December 21, 1963, Lloyd was united in marriage to Iris White in Unionville, Missouri. He was a farmer and he farmed near Plano, Iowa for many years. Lloyd was preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, Omer Andeway; two sisters, Lucille Davis and Evelyn Andeway; along with a son-in-law, Bob L. Shadden, sister-in-law, Emily Andeway and brother-in-law, Joe Davis.He is survived by: his wife, Iris Andeway of Promise City, Iowa; a daughter, Sonya Swan and her husband, Tom of Promise City, Iowa; step-sons, Larry Cowan and his wife, Karen of Cincinnati, Iowa, Gary Cowan and his wife, Bernadine of Centerville, Iowa and Lyle Cowan and his wife, Betty Lou of Cincinnati, Iowa; step-daughter, Rose Mary Shadden of Davenport, Iowa; grandchildren, T.J. Swan and his fianc', Amanda Halferty and Hannah Swan; Ten step-grandchildren; a great grandchild, Lila Swan; and several great step-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Kevin Poole officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Cincinnati, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 from 2 pm until 7 pm and the family will be present from 5 pm until 7 pm at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to Pleasant Hill Cemetery and can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
