Linda Sue Vestal's Obituary
Linda Sue Vestal, age 77, of Centerville, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025 at her home surrounded by loved ones.
Linda was born on April 7, 1948 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred "Gene" and Maxine "Mac" (Clinkenbeard) Cunningham. She worked at Pamida in Bloomfield as a Store Clerk for many years, prior to retiring. She also taught Sunday school at the Solid Rock Church of God for 13 years.
Linda was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend who brought warmth, joy, and kindness to everyone she met. She was known for her deep love of family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored and spent countless hours with, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Linda had a passion for many things, but perhaps none more than playing cards with her family, with Skip-Bo being her favorite game (No one could ever beat her at the game, and she was very proud of that). She could always be found at the card table, ready for a friendly competition with family and friends. An avid gardener, Linda also found peace in tending to her flowers and creating beautiful spaces in her yard. She took great pride in watching her garden bloom.
In addition to her love for gardening and cards, Linda had a special fondness for anything related to Elvis Presley. His music and legacy brought her joy, and she often found herself lost in the rhythms of his songs. Linda's heart was as big as her interests, and she will be remembered for the love and joy she shared with everyone she encountered. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Left to cherish Linda's memory are her children, Paula K. (Terry) Crow, Timmy Vestal (Debbie Buckallew), and Amy (Brian Jr.) Boggs; her grandchildren, Austin (Kayanna) McKay, Hoss (Kim) McKay, Wyatt Vestal, Isabel Vestal, Banxton Horn, Lyrica Horn, Mylo Knowles, Tyrion Knowles, and Evie Vestal; two great grandchildren; as well as several extended family members and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Maxine Cunningham; her brother, Lonnie Cunningham; and two grandchildren, Whitney Maxine Vestal and Sarah Michelle Vestal.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, with Reverend Nathan White officiating. Memorials have been established to Amy Boggs, to be used towards final expenses, and may be mailed to Thomas Funeral Home, ATTN: Vestal Family, 501 North 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
