Linda VanDike's Obituary
Linda VanDike, age 75 of Centerville, Iowa died Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Mercy Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa.
Linda was born February 14, 1939 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Virginia Thomas Cornett. She was a high school graduate and later, worked in housekeeping. Linda also worked as a waitress for many years at the Pale Moon. She was a member of the Solid Rock Church of God, Centerville. Linda loved to cook and spend time with her family.
Linda is survived by three children, Howard Paxston of Centerville, Iowa, Ken Paxston of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and Michael VanDike of Centerville, Iowa; three grandchildren including Amber (Clay) Winn of Ottumwa; three great grandchildren including Carley and Chale Winn; two sisters, Loretta Allen of Centerville, Iowa and Christina (Ron) Smith of Des Moines, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Yvonne Paxston; her parents; and a sister, Eloise Stickler.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30PM Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the Lange Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Tony Angran officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at the Lange Funeral Home & Crematory. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral service. A memorial has been established to the family and may be left or mailed to the Lange Funeral Home & Crematory, 1900 South 18th St. , Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
