Linda Alverda Logsdon's Obituary
Linda A. Logsdon, 84, of Centerville, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024 at MercyOne - Long Term Care in Centerville.
Linda was born on June 19, 1940 in Centerville, Iowa to Raymond & Florence (Chapman) Van Landingham. She received her education from Centerville High School, graduating in 1960. Linda was united in marriage to John Logsdon on June 12, 1960, and to this union three children were born: Dennis, Becky, and Melinda. Linda and John later divorced.
Throughout her life Linda was a homemaker. She loved taking care of her children. In her younger years she enjoyed roller skating and cooking and baking lots of sweet treats. As time went on, she opted more for coloring and playing Bingo. One thing that never changed, was her love for cats.
Survivors include her children, Dennis (Brenda) Logsdon, Becky (Chuck) Lenig, and Melinda Opperman; grandchildren, Kindra Lenig, Andrew Logsdon, April Logsdon, and Charity Opperman; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Logsdon, Wrangler McGrann, and Gracee Logsdon; sisters, Patricia Woodside and Christina (John) Sebben, along with numerous extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Stepfather Roy Stone; and ex-husband, John Logsdon.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Monday, July 8, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Interment will immediately follow at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home from 3:00 - 5:00 pm with family present.
