Linda Lee Carpenter's Obituary
Linda Carpenter of Corydon passed away on May 31, 2025, at Mercy One Long Term Care in Centerville.
Linda Lee Warren, daughter of Warner B. and Norma J. Warren was born in Centerville, Iowa on December 8, 1946. Linda graduated from Cambria-Corydon High School in 1965 and then went on to attend and graduate from Americana Beauty School in Des Moines. She started working for Kay's Beauty Shop immediately after graduating.
Linda was united in marriage to Charles Carpenter on March 4, 1966, at the United Methodist Church in Corydon. Charles and Linda spent the first fourteen months of their marriage in Germany where Charles was stationed with the U.S. Army. They returned to the United States in 1967 and did some farming at their home near Cambria before they moved to Corydon in 1977. Linda along with Maggie Dorsey opened a beauty shop in Corydon called Lin-Mar Beauty Shop. Linda later opened her own beauty shop called Linda's Beauty Shop in her home where she served many clients in the community for thirty years.
Linda enjoyed many hobbies including putting together puzzles, framing, matting and preserving old pictures and calendars, needlepoint, and quilting. Linda was a member of the United Methodist Church of Corydon. She was also a member of International Order of the Rainbow for Girls and Beta Sigma Phi. Charlie and Linda enjoyed traveling with their children. She loved spending time with her grandchildren especially watching Disney movies with them. She sewed and quilted them several different special keepsakes that they will treasure.
Linda is survived by her husband Charlie, son, Clint (Tiffany) Carpenter, daughter, Lee Ann (Chris) Osier, grandchildren: Lauren (Larry) Holmes, Jordan (Michelle) Osier, Keaton (Michol) Carpenter, Trent (Tessa) Carpenter, great grandchildren: Ryder and Rylee Holmes, Ila and Jack Carpenter, Dylan, Karter, and Jolene Murphy, siblings, Dotty (Dave) Snider, Richard (Nancy) Warren, Sue (Dick) Darrah, brothers-in-law; Don Carpenter and Dennis Carpenter and several other family members and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, and sister-in-law Cindy Carpenter.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon with Pastor Leroy Perkins officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Corydon Cemetery immediately following the service.
