Linda S. Barger's Obituary
Linda Barger, age 61 of Centerville, Iowa passed away Saturday, December 13, 2008 at the Grandview Healthcare Center in Oelwein, Iowa.
Linda was born May 1, 1947, the daughter of William Eugene and Elaine (Campbell) Watts in Centerville, Iowa. She married Donald Barger on December 27, 1962 in Unionville, Missouri and to this union, four children were born, Donald, Christopher, Terri, and Randell. They were later divorced.
Linda spent several years employed at the Daily Iowegian in Centerville where she worked in the insert room. She spent the last twelve years of her working career employed with Curwood Corporation in the finishing area. Linda loved spending time with both her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an active member of the Mystic Methodist Church for several years. Linda was also a member of the Mystic American Legion. She will be missed by many friends and family.
Linda is survived by her four children, Donald Barger of Albia, Iowa, Christopher Barger of Centerville, Iowa, Terri Barger of rural Mystic, Iowa, and Randell (Chris) Barger of Centerville, Iowa; twelve grandchildren, Cheyenne Carter, Ryan Barger, Savannah Gorden, Dakota Barger, Danyielle Barger, Alyssa Barger, Nolyn Barger, Susanne Barger, Zach Barger, Laura Ballenger, Katie Barger and Taylor Johnson; ten great grandchildren; a sister Jo Ella Coatney of rural Mystic, Iowa; a sister-in-law Linda Watts of Centerville; an aunt Margaret Foster of Exline, Iowa; three nieces, Kim Coatney of Minnesota, Gina Major of Albia, Iowa, and Stacy Watts of Des Moines, Iowa; two nephews, Nick and Jerry Coatney of rural Mystic, Iowa. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Leslie Watts; and a twin brother William Watts.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Friday, December 19, 2008 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville with Pastor Howard Luscan officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Mystic, Iowa and a dinner will follow at the Eagle's. A visitation will be held all day Thursday at Lange Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 PM that evening.
