Lila Singley's Obituary
Lila Singley, 85 of Moulton passed away Friday, September 11, 2020 at her home. Lila was born to Floyd & Hazel (Hoit) Wolver on September 23, 1934 in Truax, Iowa. On December 18, 1954, Lila was united in marriage to Roland Singley, he preceded her in death on March 22, 2017. To this union three kids were born: Brenda, Ronald and Doris. Lila worked at a dry cleaner for most of her life. She not only worked for Centerville Cleaners but for Chandler Dry Cleaning in Mesa, AZ. Lila worked as a cook in the kitchen for Moulton-Udell School for many years. She spent the majority of her life being a homemaker and raising her children and grandchildren. Lila enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and canning. She was well known for her homemade bread and apple butter. Lila also enjoyed traveling, farming, mowing cemeteries and taking care of the Senior Citizens apartments in Moulton, with Roland. She also enjoyed watching birds around her home, especially cardinals. Lila was a member of the Fairview Church of the Brethren. Survivors include daughters: Brenda Bryant of Moulton and Doris Spinler of Ankeny, grandchildren: Kayla (Jason) Waits of Prairie City, Loran (Lauren) Bryant of Moulton, Brittany Spinler of Trenton MO, Amber Spinler and fianc Josh Fleming of Ankeny, great grandchildren: Trentin, Tanner, Adelyn, Carter and William. Brother, Estel (Reta) Wolver of Moravia. Sisters-in-law, Wanda Gordon of Florida, Joan (Lain) McWilliams of Florida and Jean (Richard) Westercamp of Oskaloosa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roland, son, Ronald Singley, siblings: LaVaughn (George) Wickenkamp, Ernest (Alfreda) Wolver, Marvin (Annett) Wolver, Melvin Wolver, Lucille (Everett) Curl, Lois (Merle) Houser, Edwin (Dorothy) Wolver, Lorna (Duane) Oswalt, brothers-in-law, Dick (Edith) Singley and Henry Gordon. Visitation will be all day Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville, with the family present from 5 to 7. Funeral service will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Interment will immediately follow at Sunset View Cemetery in Moulton. Memorials may be given to the Moulton First Responders or Sunset View Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com or facebook.com/thomasfuneralhome.
