Letha Mae Crawford's Obituary
Letha Crawford, 92 of Centerville passed away, Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Mercy One - Centerville.
Letha was born on the home place in Mendota ,MO on November 19,1929 to Sydney and Mamie Morrow.
She graduated from high school in Moulton IA. After high school she worked at the KRNT theater and was a model for Yonkers in Des Moines. Letha married Jack Crawford on June 27, 1948. To this union two children were born, Dennis and Sherri. Letha and her husband Jack bought the Moulton Locker in 1955 and owned/operated for 35 years.
Letha was an avid bridge player and enjoyed spending time with her family, square dancing, crocheting and making jewelry trees. She was baptized in the Drake Avenue Christian Church and served as a Sunday school teacher for several year at the United Methodist church in Moulton. She served on the original library board for the Garrett Memorial Library. Letha belonged to the Centerville Auxiliary and enjoyed bus trips with her bank and the 18 to 80 Club. She was also a member of Chapter F P.E.O. and Order of Eastern Star.
Letha is survived by her daughter Sherri Krause and son-in-law Jerry Krause, daughter-in-law Denise Crawford, Grandchildren, Dustin Crawford (Laura),Cory Crawford (Sunshine), Adam Eischen (Eldonda Van Maamen) Taylor Eischen, Brandt Eischen (Lisa), Joe Krause (Flora), Sarah Krause, Jon Krause (Cassie) and 15 great grandchildren, sister Mary Israel, sisters-in-law Betty Morrow and Joanne star and several nieces, nephews and a son-in-law, Ron Eischen.
. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, son Dennis, sisters Zephyr Stansberry (Grant) Grace Beard Spurgeon (Pearlie)Betty Bogle (Leon) Brothers Claude Morrow (Anna Lou) Lester Morrow(Ruth) Glen Morrow (Doris) Jack Morrow, and special friend Ken Mehrhoff.
A private celebration of life will take place at a later date. Interment will be in Sunset View Cemetery next to her husband Jack. Memorials may be given to Garrett Memorial Library and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com or facebook.com/thomasfuneralhome.
