Lester Leo Hopkins' Obituary
Lester Leo Hopkins, age 98, of Unionville, Iowa, died Saturday, October 15, 2005, at Bloomfield Care Center in Bloomfield, Iowa. He was born the son of Frank and Jennie (Prose) Hopkins on July 19, 1907 near Unionville, Iowa. He received his education at the Unionville Community Schools.On June 13, 1933, Lester was united in marriage to Treva A. Porter in Centerville, Iowa. The couple farmed for many year around the Unionville area and also Lester was a mechanic.He is preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Treva Hopkins on October 21, 2003; son, Richard Hopkins; grandson, Wade Cormeny; great granddaughter, Kateland Hopkins; brothers, Ray and Virgil Hopkins; sister, Leona Bell; and a son-in-law, Ronald Cormeny.Lester is survived by: daughter, Letha Cormeny of Unionville, Iowa; sons, Paul and his wife, Carolyn Hopkins of Ottumwa, Iowa and Ralph and his wife, Sheilia Hopkins of Bloomfield, Iowa; daughter-in-law, LouZella Hopkins of Ottumwa, Iowa; sister, Opal Purvis of Centerville, Iowa; 13 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with burial to follow in the Eaton Cemetery west of Unionville, Iowa.
