Leslie Mickey's Obituary
Leslie Robert Mickey, 92 of Centerville, Iowa died Monday, August 22, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.
Leslie was born January 2, 1913 the son of Marshall and Myrtle (Gillgrass) Mickey in Mystic, Iowa. He graduated from Centerville High School in 1930 and later married Eunice Seath on December 31, 1941. He was in the Navy during W.W.II. serving on the USS Virgo. He worked for Iowa Southern Utilities for 27 years and he was a member of the Church of Christ.
Leslie is survived by his wife Eunice (Seath) Mickey of Centerville; 2 sons; Kenneth Mickey and his wife Deana of Gering, NE and Larry Mickey and his wife Esther of Oskaloosa, IA; a daughter Linda (Mickey) Neff and her husband Ken of Council Bluffs, IA, 10 grandchildren; Ken Mickey of Reno, NE, Kris Mickey of Scottsbluff, NE, Martin Mickey of Torrington, WY, Curtis Mickey of Georgetown, KY, Keather (Justin) Pierantoni of Freedom, WY, Kare (Kirk) Hayes of Gering, NV, Karla (Francisco) Piedrahita of Pasadena, CA, Karena (Ted) Johnson of Davenport, IA, Vanesa (Bill) Fisher of Glenwood, IA and Malinda (Caleb) Lincoln of Council Bluffs, IA and 15 great grand-children and a sister Jessie Tharp of Dunlap, IA. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Jim Mickey, and a sister Twila Haynes.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning August 25, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home in Centerville with Dan Smith and Patrick Doherty officiating. Friends may call Wednesday at the funeral home with the family present from 6-8 P.M. Burial will follow the service at the Highland Cemetery Mystic, Iowa. A memorial has been established to the Church of Christ and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, PO Box 6, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
