Leo Shane Knowles' Obituary
Leo Shane Knowles, age 64 of Centerville, passed away Friday, July 23, 2021 at his home.
Shane was born on May 9, 1957 in Putnam County, Missouri, the son of Leo Martin Knowles and Alberta Mae (Beck) Knowles. He visited the Kingdom Hall in Martindale, Texas in the early 2000s, where he met Shelley Elaine Collins. They fell in love right away and the couple was united in marriage on May 29, 2007.
Shane worked at Bel-Air Lounge, Slims Tire Service, and he had several good years with the McCarthy family at Goodyear. He also owned and operated Hokeys power wash for a period of time. Shane was a part time gentleman gambler, who enjoyed card playing, watching horse races, and staying busy. In his earlier years, Shane enjoyed billiard and dancing competitions. He was a very sociable person who loved having a good time, and would always make sure everyone around him was too.
Left to honor Shanes memory are his mother, Alberta Mae Fowler; his children, Jesse Knowles of Unionville, Missouri, Latisha Rider of Boston, Massachusetts, Charlet (Mark) VanHook of Unionville, Missouri; Jade (Brooke) Knowles of Unionville, Missouri; his step-children, Lindsey (Neil) Finlay of New Braunfels, TX, Amanda (Chris) Rickman of Driftwood, TX, and Emmalee (Andrew) Wade of Centerville; grandchildren, Jaylee Knowles, Jonathon Knowles, Jesslyn Knowles, Jenna Knowles, Baylie Rider, Skylar Rider, Taylor Sundall, Mackenzey Knowles, Elley Knowles and Jaxon Knowles; two sisters, Carol (Bruce) Knight of Unionville, Missouri and Tammy (Billy) Wells of Cincinnati, Iowa; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Shane was preceded in death by his wife, Shelley Knowles on June 11, 2021; his father, Leo Martin Knowles; a son, John Curtis; a brother, Lee Jay Knowles; and a grandchild, Kylan Rider.
A public visitation will take place, Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville, with the family greeting friends from 10AM-1PM. Private graveside services will be held at Union Cemetery, just south of Seymour in Missouri.
