Leo Crow's Obituary
Leo Junior Crow was born in Fort Madison, Iowa on April 3, 1926 to Leo and Eva (Sach) Crow, a barber and a homemaker.
He was raised with his younger brother, Bob, in Centerville, Iowa, except for his 11th grade year in New Mexico, when they moved during World War II so their father could cut hair at Roswell Army Air Field. The family returned to Iowa, and Leo graduated from Centerville High School in 1944. He married Patricia O'Hair in 1949, and their daughter Martha was born in 1961.
Leo worked for more than four decades at Iowa Southern Utilities, rising from the mail room to eventually become Executive Vice President, and retiring in 1991.
He enjoyed wine with dinner (but wouldn't turn it down at lunch), yardwork (always done in long shirtsleeves), telling his wife she was driving him crazy (even though he chuckled at her antics under his breath), traveling with her all over North America and Europe (with a special fondness for the Mediterranean), going to shows with or starring his grandchildren (including High School Musical at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C.), and all dogs (especially his own, who appreciated a good car ride around the town square).
Leo was preceded in death by the love of his life in 1998, and lived off-and-on in Virginia beginning in 2002. On June 6, 2009 in Fairfax, Virginia, he passed away at 83 years old, curmudgeonly to the end.
He is survived by his brother Robert Crow (Barbara) of Trenton, Missouri, his daughter Martha Lee (Randy) of Burke, Virginia, and his grandchildren Kaitlin, Hannah and Joshua Lee, all of Burke, Virginia.
