Leland "Guy" Vanderlinden's Obituary
Leland 'Guy' Vanderlinden, age 82, of Moulton, Iowa, died Saturday, June 26, 2004, at his home southwest of Moulton. He was born the son of Leslie and Alice (Baysinger) Vanderlinden on March 15, 1922 near Beach, Iowa. He received his education in the Milo Community Schools in Milo, Iowa.On October 29, 1949, Guy was united in marriage to Betty Shetterly in Des Moines, Iowa, they were later divorced. Then on March 17, 1974, Guy was united in marriage to Ellen Jean Larimer in Gallatin, Missouri. He farmed for several years southwest of Moulton, Iowa where he enjoyed raising livestock. Guy attended Christian Union in Milo, Iowa before moving down to the Moulton area.He was preceded in death by his parents.Guy is survived by: his wife, Ellen Jean Vanderlinden of Moulton, Iowa; sons, Garry and his wife, Linda Vanderlinden of Des Moines, Iowa and Donnie Vanderlinden of Moulton, Iowa; step-daughters, Marge Segal of West Palm Beach, Florida, Betty Jo and her husband, James Volkamer of Des Moines, Iowa and Sue and her husband, Bill Mason of Milo, Iowa; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at 10 AM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, Iowa with Rev. Reg Higginbottom officiating. Burial will be held at 2 pm at the Belmont Cemetery near Milo, Iowa.
