Leland "Lee" Blumer's Obituary
Leland 'Lee' Blumer, age 59, of Centerville, Iowa, died Saturday, January 31, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. He was born the son of Don and LaRue (Cross) Blumer on November 19, 1944, in Unionville, Iowa. He graduated from the Moravia Community Schools in 1963.On November 16, 1968, Lee was united in marriage to Donna Laurson in Centerville, Iowa. He has retired from Viskase Corporation and was currently working for Curwood in Centerville as a Maintenance Mechanic. He served his country during the Vietnam War with the United States Army from 1965 until his honorable discharge in 1968.Lee was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Patty Estlack; and a nephew, David Estlack.He is survived by: his wife, Donna Blumer of Centerville, Iowa; daughter, Dawn Blumer of Centerville, Iowa; grandson, Skyler Blumer of Centerville, Iowa; sisters, Betty Foster of Centerville, Iowa and Rose Glosser of Blakesburg, Iowa.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2004, at 1 pm at the Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church in Centerville with Rev. David Kaster officiating. Burial with full military honors by the Centerville area Veterans organization will be held at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Cincinnati, Iowa.
