Leanne Thomas, 75 of Centerville passed away Monday, October 17, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. Leanne was born in Centerville on March 22, 1936 to John & Bessie (Privett) Goodman. She received her education from Centerville High School graduating in 1955. She married Stanley Thomas on February 17, 1962, he preceded her in death on January 11, 1979. Leanne worked as a Teacher's Aide at Centerville Schools for many years. She enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Leanne is survived by two children; Sandy Thomas(Tracy) of Centerville, Steven Thomas(Tammie) of Centerville, three grandchildren, Ashton, Shayna and Kyle Thomas of Centerville, two step-grandchildren, Johnelle Sherwood(Don) of Centerville, Danielle Bohn of Centerville, three sisters; Betty Brice of Centerville, Jeri Jackson of Des Moines and Maxine Cox of Albia. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley, son, Scott Thomas, granddaughter, Vanesa Thomas, two brothers; Jack & Bill Goodman and three sisters; Wanda Morris, Ruth Gerard and Mary Gesualdo. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Thomas Funeral Home. A private family interment will be held at Haines Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in her name to Centerville Nursing & Rehab which may be left at or mailed to Thomas Funeral Home - PO Box 125 - 23548 Hwy 5 - Centerville, Iowa 52544.
