Leah J. Pilkenton's Obituary
Leah J. Pilkenton age 87 of Mystic, Iowa, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.
Leah was born April 27, 1928 in Mystic, Iowa, the daughter of Gene and Ardis (Welch) German. In her younger years, she loved to sing. After high school graduation, she worked for approximately 7-10 years at Jancey Engineering in Davenport on the assembly line.
On June 24, 1961, Leah was united in marriage to Arnold Pilkenton. She traveled all over the Southern and Western regions of the United States. Leah loved to cook, and loved her flower garden. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints.
Leah is survived by her husband, Arnold; her children, David (LeAnn) Ducey of Des Moines, Gene Ducey of Walcott, Doug (Sue) Ducey of North Liberty, Pamela (Jerry) Vandemark of Connecticut, Daniel (Lynn) Pilkenton of Cedar Rapids, and Patty Jo (Mark) Greve of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Robert German from Blakesburg, and many Grandchildren. Leah was preceded in death by her parents, and a grandson Jason Ducey.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville. Inurnment will take place in the Highland Cemetery, Mystic, Iowa at a later date. Memorial contributions have been established to the family of Leah Pilkenton and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
