Lawrence Davison's Obituary
Lawrence Davison, 85 of Corydon passed away, Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Wayne County Hospital in Corydon. Lawrence was born to Lawrence Sr. & Opal (Swan) Davison on February 16, 1930 in Rathbun, Iowa. Lawrence left school early to enlist in the United States Navy Corps. On September 16, 1956, Lawrence was united in marriage to Velma Marie Roberts. Lawrence was a member of the Russell E. Marshall American Legion Post #68 in Corydon. Lawrence was considered to be a jack of all trades. He enjoyed wrenching on go-carts and bicycles for his kids and also enjoyed tinkering around with wood, building tree houses for them amongst other things. In his spare time, Lawrence enjoyed boating, camping and hunting. He enjoyed giving back to his community as a Boy Scout leader. Survivors include, five children: Judy Cook of Van Wert, IA, Louise Stocker of Corydon, Shirley Cook & (Richard) of Van Wert, IA, Sharon Aase & (Brian) of Zumbrota, MN, Randall Davison & (Sue) of Kenyon, MN, 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Marie Davison, parents, grandson, David Stocker and a brother, Jack Davison. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Thomas-Randolph Funeral Home in Corydon with Leroy Perkins officiating. Interment will follow at Shriver Cemetery near Corydon with full military rites performed by Russell E. Marshall American Legion Post #68. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Thomas-Randolph Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Family which will be designated at a later date.
