LaVera Pettibone's Obituary
LaVera Pettibone, age 95, of Moravia, Iowa, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the Monroe County Hospital, Albia.
She was born August 12, 1924 in Appanoose County, Iowa, the daughter of Elijah and Lydia (Brassfield) Albertson. LaVera married George Robinson on January 29, 1940 in Lancaster, Missouri, and to this union four children were born, Roger, Sue, Richard "Dick" and George "George Bob." George preceded her in death in 1964. LaVera later married Don Pettibone on October 5, 1984 in Missouri. He preceded LaVera in death on February 22, 1995.
LaVera was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, as well as the Unionville, Iowa American Legion.
She is survived by three children, Sue Vitkauskas, Richard "Dick" Robinson and George "George Bob" Robinson all of Moravia, Iowa; a brother, Dick Albertson of Moravia, Iowa; four grandchildren; as well as six great grandchildren.
LaVera was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah and Lydia Albertson; both husbands, George Robinson and Don Pettibone; and a son, Roger Robinson.
According to LaVeras wishes, cremation has been accorded. There will be a Memorial Dinner in her honor from 12-3 PM, Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Grace United Methodist Fellowship Hall in Moravia. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Unionville, Iowa American Legion, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
