Larry Wendland's Obituary
Larry Dean Wendland, 80, of Moulton, passed away on March 28, 2021 at MercyOne Medical Center in Centerville. Larry was born on May 16, 1940 in Moulton to Trenton and Pearlene (Dixon) Wendland. Larry attended school at Moulton-Udell before leaving to help out on the family farm. He joined the United States Army in 1966 and proudly served his country for several years before being honorably discharged. Upon release, he did industrial work and drove semi-trucks before owning and operating his own paint company up until his retirement. Larry was united in marriage to Callie Knapp in 1973 and shared 25 wonderful years together until her passing. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed coaching baseball, playing cards, collecting coins and spending time with his family. Larry is survived by his daughter Janice Seals, stepchildren Mary Garrison, Donna McDaniel and Tammie Luntsford, brothers Terry Wendland, Mark Rifenberry, sisters Brenda Pantry and Jean Marvin as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Callie, sons Larry Wendland Jr. and Trenton Wendland Jr., sister Sandra Gardener Adams and stepfather Clint Rifenberry. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - noon on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Private graveside services with military honors will take place at Sunset View Cemetery in Moulton later this spring.
