Larry Gene Sales' Obituary
Larry Sales, 81 of Centerville, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Wayne County Hospital in Corydon.
Larry was born on June 10, 1940 in Centerville to Wyllard and Virginia (Brown) Sales. He received his education from Seymour High School, graduating in 1958. On April 17, 1960; Larry was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Judith Clark at the Seymour Baptist Church.
Larry worked in the agriculture industry for over 40 years with companies like Kewash, Kaiser and finally Fowler Elevator. Serving the farming community in Wayne and surrounding counties.
Larry enjoyed friends & family. His home was open to anyone for food, a place to stay or just to visit. He considered them extended family and was a friend to everyone. No one could match his sense of humor.
Larry was a member of the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department for well over 20 years. He was a 50 plus year member of the Seymour & Centerville Lions Club and his sons carry on that legacy yet today. He was a proponent of giving back to his community and helping others.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Sales, sons: Dale Sales (Susan), Dan Sales (Dorine), grandchildren: Ashley Whisler (Tanner Cowan), Ryan Sales (Bailey), Cailyn Sales (Sean Thompson), great grandchildren: Charlotte Whisler, Maxton Whisler, Toryn Sales, siblings: Terry Sales, Richard Sales (Kathy), Sheryel Sheets (Dale) and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Bessie's Barn - 15927 IA-2 - Centerville, IA 52544. Interment will immediately follow at Crossroads Cemetery near Plano. Visitation will be all day Monday, November 22, 2021 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 5-7 pm.
