Larry Powers' Obituary
Larry Powers, age 66 of Numa, Iowa died Friday evening, March 16, 2012 at his home.
Larry was born July 30, 1945 in Centerville, the son of Raymond and Maxine (Arbogast) Powers. He graduated from Centerville High School. Larry married Barbara A. Saner on July 18, 1992 in Las Vegas, NV. Larry farmed most of his life and owned and operated the Sportman's Lounge in Centerville for a number of years. He loved his animals, including his horses, chickens, rabbits, pugs and cats.
Larry is survived by his wife Barb of Numa; children Krista Powers of Centerville, Rick (Florence) Powers of Carl Junction, MO, Marty (Misty) Powers of Clarkdale, Iowa, Bridgette (Steven) Tipton of Centerville, Tara Powers of Numa; stepchildren Tishia (Darren) Batterson of Agency, Iowa, Chandra (Troy) Hilty of Centerville; 8 grandchildren, Brice Powers, Brianna Powers, Thad Haskell, Mason Haskell, T.J. Hilty, Tyler Batterson, Danielle Batterson, Delanie Batterson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Lynn Starcevich.
Funeral services will be held 1:30pm Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the Lange Funeral Home, Centerville with Pastor Kay Singley officiating. Friends may call Tuesday with the family present from 6-8PM and the Lange Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Dale Cemetery, north of Centerville. A memorial has been established to either the family or T & C Trail Blazers 4H Club and may be left or mailed to the Lange Funeral Home, 1900 South 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
