LARRY ANDREWS Obituary's Obituary
Larry Andrews was born on July 12, 1940 in Williamson, Iowa to Homer and Thelma Andrews, the youngest of three. In 1943 Larry's family moved to a farm west of Allerton, making it their permanent residence. Larry attended a country school until 1949 when he entered the Allerton School system. During high school, Larry met a young lady named Shirley Stoklasa. They both graduated from Allerton High School in 1958. After graduation, Larry started the family farming business. In June 1960, Larry married his high school sweetheart. Larry & Shirley continued their lives together, on the farm just a few miles from his parents, Homer and Thelma. In 1965 Larry and Shirley moved to their current location west of Allerton. This is where they raised two sons, Barry and Kevin. Larry continued grain farming and raising a cow/calf herd until his health forced him to retire. Before Larry retired from farming, he also had his hand in the political world. Larry was a Wayne County Supervisor from 1993 to 2004. Larry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching them play ball and showing 4H livestock. His other passions were restoring International tractors and watching John Wayne movies. The last tractor he restored was a 1973, 966 IH, which Larry and Shirley bought new. He finished it in November of 2011. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Thelma Andrews and his brother Ted. He survived by his wife Shirley, two sons and their wives Barry & Tracy and Kevin and Dennise), and grandchildren Makayla, Bailey, Kyle, Raeshel, Cheyenne, and Paige, sister SueAnn and husband Jerry Freemyer of Lebanon, Missouri and several nieces and nephews. Larry will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was an outstanding community member, loving husband and grandfather.
