Larry Murphy's Obituary
Larry Murphy, age 79 of Allerton passed away on August 11, 2020 at the Wayne County Hospital. Larry Dale Murphy was born on November 25, 1940 to Herbert and Anna Marie (Slaise) Murphy in Detroit, Michigan. He attended school in Michigan and graduated from High School and Junior College. He then enlisted in the United States Airforce. Larry was united in marriage to Linda (Bivin) Murphy on April 22, 1967 in Michigan. The couple had two children; Cammie and Keith. He was employed with Delta Airlines as a Customer Service Representative. Larry had many things that brought him joy, but his greatest joy was making people laugh. Being "Puffo" the clown was only one of many ways he brought joy to others. When visiting with friends and family, Larry always had to throw in a new joke to see them smile and hear them laugh. One of his favorite past times was going deer hunting. He also enjoyed working with his hands, especially doing woodworking projects, he loved to sing and he liked writing poetry for special occasions. Larry is survived by his loving wife Linda, daughter Cammie Stephens-Schaap, son Keith Murphy, granddaughter Madison Scholtus and grandson Matthew Murphy as well as many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Keith Murphy and sisters; Audrey Neimi, Pat Gordon, Joyce Stapelton, and Shirley Van Slyke. Funeral service for Larry will be held at the Clio Baptist Church on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
