Larry Wayne McElderry's Obituary
Larry Wayne McElderry, age 55, of Exline, IA, died Wednesday, January 7, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa. He was born the son of Darwin and Ozetta (Mathes) McElderry on April 2, 1948, in Exline, Iowa. He graduated from the Centerville Community Schools in 1966.On September 11, 1966, Larry was united in marriage to Debbie Pickard in Centerville, Iowa. He worked the last 3 years at the Barker Company in Centerville in the refrigeration department. He was a hard worker, enjoyed playing his guitar in a band and playing country music. He loved spending time with his grandson Chase and was willing to help others. He was an avid carpenter who built several homes in the Centerville area and both his daughters and his own home south of Centerville.He was preceded in death by: his brothers, Dale McElderry and Floyd Mathes.Larry is survived by: his parents, Darwin 'Darb' and Ozetta McElderry of Exline, Iowa; daughter, Robyn Brown and Brian Hamilton of Knoxville, Iowa; son, Brandon McElderry of Exline, Iowa; brother, Roger and his wife, Linda McElderry of Exline, Iowa; sister-in-law, Carol and her husband, Dan Kelley of Centerville, Iowa; grandson, Chase Brown of Knoxville, Iowa; his former wife, Debbie McElderry of Exline, Iowa; nieces, Heather Kelley, Michelle McElderry, Pam Mathes and Betty Hendrix; nephews, Shane Kelley and Mike Mathes.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2004, at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Gerald Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at the Exline Cemetery in Exline, Iowa.
