Larry Lee Fitzsimmons' Obituary
Larry Lee Fitzsimmons, age 66, of Centerville, IA, died Friday, September 12, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, IA. He was born the son of Morris and Bernice (Messer) Fitzsimmons on June 19, 1937 in Montezuma, Iowa. He graduated from the Albia Community School and later from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa with a BA Degree in Business.Larry was united in marriage to Barbara Murphy on October 3, 1972 in Las Vegas, NV. He served his country with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Larry has owned Centerville Iron and Metal for over 32 years. He was a member of the Numa Christian Church where he was an Elder and also was involved with Gideons International.He was preceded in death by: his father, Morris Fitzsimmons and a sister, Wanda Jean Fitzsimmons.Larry is survived by his; wife, Barbara Fitzsimmons of Centerville, Iowa; son, Bryan Fitzsimmons of Dallas, TX; daughters, Christina Fitzsimmons of Copenhagen, Denmark, Renee Fitzsimmons of Centerville and Stacey Zaputil and her husband, Justin of Muscatine, Iowa; mother, Bernice Fitzsimmons of Albia, Iowa; brother, Donald Fitzsimmons of Albia, Iowa; grandchildren, Bastian Fitzsimmons of Copenhagen, Denmark, Addison Zaputil of Muscatine, Iowa and Isaac Byrd of Centerville, Iowa.Services will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at 1 PM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Kay Singley and Boyd Halford Officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in the Oakview Cemetery in Albia.
