Kimie Maletta
Kimie Maletta, age 58, of Centerville, died Sunday, June 11, 2006 at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
She was born the daughter of Jinsuke and Yuki Maeda on January 13, 1948 in Imari City, Saga, Japan.
On December 18, 1972 Kimie was united in marriage to Jack Maletta in Fukuoka, Japan.
Kimie was preceded in death by her parents and an older sister.
She is survived by her husband, Jack of Centerville, four children, Kathi (Dan) Crew of Centerville, Erika (Jeremy) Fogle of Corydon, John of Ames, and Meho of Centerville, two grandsons, Gunner Lee and Tysn James Fogle of Corydon, and many special friends.
She is also survived by two sisters, Michiko Mine and Kyoko Yamaguchi, and two brothers, Takeo Maeda and Tsugio Maeda, all of Japan.
Kimie worked hard her whole life to raise her four children. She also helped to raise her two grandsons who meant the world to her. She loved taking care of them everyday, taught them many things, and spent countless hours sharing memories about them. She also enjoyed going for walks and staying healthy, doing yard work, attending sporting events and band concerts, taking pictures, and making new friends. She was very proud of her family and loved to capture every moment with her camera.
She will forever be missed for her thoughtfulness and caring nature, a laugh that could fill the room, her endless amount of hugs, and for her never ending love for everyone in her life.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Thursday, May 15, 2006 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville with Father Ron Will officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. A visitation will be held Wednesday all day at the funeral home with the family present from 6-8 PM. A scripture service will follow at 8 PM. Memorials have been established to either the St. Mary's Catholic School or the Maletta Family and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S.18th St., Centerville, IA 52544.
