Kevin Buckley's Obituary
Kevin Lee Buckley, age 61, of Centerville, Iowa, died Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born on May 24, 1958 to Jack Buckley and Beverly Simpson - Buckley. Kevin grew up in Des Moines before moving to Centerville, where he spent the remainder of his life. He had two daughters, Malinda Buckley (Zachary Elarton) and Jessica Fuller, and two grandchildren, Valerie Elarton [Malinda] and Kaiden Kellum [Jessica]. Kevin loved fishing, hunting, being outdoors in the woods and, most of all, drinking beer and spending time with his friends. He worked as a masonry laborer for 30 years. He was a very hard worker and did anything he could to keep himself busy. Kevin had a huge heart and cared about everyone he knew. Kevin was stubborn and took pride in being a "pain-in-the-ass;" he didn't listen very well when given directions or orders. He was his own kind and lived by his own rules. Kevin was best known by his nickname, "Buck;" known even better by his friends as "Beer Drinking Buck." Kevin is survived by his father Jack Buckley (Louise); mother Beverly Simpson-Buckley; brother Jack Buckley; sister Lori Buckley-Mascotti; two daughters, Malinda Buckley (Zach Elarton) and Jessica Fuller; and two grandchildren, Valerie Elarton [Malinda] and Kaiden Kellum [Jessica]. He loved all of his friends and family very much, no matter what, and will continue to look after each of us from his new home up above. Rest easy, Buck. We love you, Dad! Services are pending.
