Kermit Peek's Obituary
Kermit Peek, 73, of Numa died Saturday morning in LaPlata, Missouri services will be held at Thomas Lange Funeral Home. Kermit was born on January 15, 1931 to George Dennis and Velma Elzira (Garmon) Peek in Ottumwa, Iowa. Kermit was united in marriage on June 3, 1950 at Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church in Centerville to Myrna Joyce Long. He owned and operated Peek Heating & Cooling for 46 years, for 11 of those years he also was employed by Elliott Electric. Kermit was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Unionville, Iowa, IBEW Local 13 of Burlington, Iowa. Kermit enjoyed volunteering time to Camp Victory in Livonia, Missouri and also volunteered his time to churches and orphanages in Mexico.
Kermit is survived by his wife of Myrna Joyce Peek; two daughters, Deborah Olson and her husband Gary and Donna Hall and her husband Dan both of LaPlata, Missouri; four grandchildren, Mike Hobart and his wife Susan of Huxley, Iowa, Marsha Green and her husband Pat of Sedalia, Missouri, Kerri Seddon and Cody Hall both of LaPlata, Missouri; four great grandchildren, Kersten McLeland of Ottumwa, Natalie Green of Sedalia, Bailey and Brooke Manson of LaPlata, Missouri. Kermit is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Russell Peek; twin granddaughters, Sandra and Sherry Hobart.
Visitation will be all day Tuesday, January 27 at Thomas Lange Funeral Home with family present from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. at Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Eakins and Reverend Boyd Halford officiating, burial will follow at Mt. Ararat Cemetery. A memorial has been established to Hospice 2000 of Kirksville, Missouri, Camp Victory, Livonia, Missouri, Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Unionville, Iowa.
