Kenneth "Karl" Knapp's Obituary
Kenneth 'Karl' Knapp, age 80, of Centerville, Iowa, died Sunday, February 11, 2007 at Monroe Care Center in Albia, Iowa. He was born the son of Otto and Laura (Parr) Knapp on February 16, 1926 in Rathbun, Iowa. He received his education in the Centerville Community Schools.On June 2, 1943, Karl was united in marriage to Carleta Teater in Unionville, Missouri. He worked for over 28 years for the City of Centerville in the Sanitation Department. He loved spending time with his family as well as being outdoors in his Garden and fishing with the grandkids.He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Carleta Knapp on March 4, 1996; grandsons, Nickie Dulaney and Monte Knapp; brother, Oliver Knapp; sisters, Mildred Garrison, Anna Carpenter, Georgie Hoskins, Evelyn Michelle and Maudie Starick; son-in-law, Gary Tracy.Karl is survived by: his daughter, Linda Tracy of Centerville, Iowa and a son, Jim Knapp and his wife, Sharon of Hamilton, Ohio; grandchildren, Reisha Summers, Yulanda Collins, Kabrina Hudson, Stacy Chidester and Lori Watson; great grandchildren, Gage and Tyson West, Chelsey Summers and Grace Watson; great-great grandson, Deacon West.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Jared Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Haines Cemetery north of Centerville.
