Kenneth Eugene Ellison's Obituary
Kenneth Eugene Ellison, age 81, passed away on Saturday October 12, 2024 at his home in Ackworth, Iowa.
He is the son of Roy and Berniece (Turner) Ellison, and graduated from Moravia High School with the class of 1961. After high school he enlisted in the Air Force, where he served our country for two years. Kenneth leaves behind a son, David Ellison.
In his younger years he farmed and when he moved to Des Moines he took up lowboy driving for construction companies. Kenneth and his wife Pam enjoyed all things horse racing. He raised, raced, and sold race horses. He also had a considerable amount of winnings throughout his years in the industry. If he wasn't working with horses, he was working on the upkeep at the farm to keep things going. He liked to hangout with his friends and play all sorts of cards games. He loved the time he got to spend with his son and grandchildren throughout his life.
Kenneth is survived by his son Dave Ellison, grandchildren David (Yasmin) Ellison and Jesse (Ian) Beckenson, nephews Ron Ellison, Jim Ellison and Mark Lathen, and their children.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Pam Ellison, siblings Merv, Mary Ellen, and Dorothy Marie, and a nephew Mike Lathen.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00PM Friday, October 18, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Moravia with Larry Bettis officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia. Visitation will take place Friday, October 18, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Moravia with the family greeting friends from 10:30AM-12:00PM.
