Kelly Morlan's Obituary
Kelly Leigh Morlan, age 55, of Centerville, Iowa passed away Monday, May 20, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
He was born on May 3, 1958 in Unionville, Missouri, the son of Gene ""Keith"" and Joyce (Kessler) Morlan. Kelly graduated from Moulton High School in 1976. He married Sherri Thomas on October 18, 1980.
Kelly worked as a bartender, laborer for BN Railroad, Country Village Lumberyard, and as a Car Salesman for DeVore Motors, Vaughn Motors and Jim Buban Motors.
He enjoyed reading and studying history and the Bible. He became an ordained minister in 2003. Kelly was a member of the Moulton Christian Church.
Kelly is survived by his wife Sherri Morlan of Centerville, Iowa; two children, Jon (Casey Clemens) Morlan of Moravia, Iowa, Joscelyn (Scott Gottman) Morlan and grandson Blayne Morlan all of Centerville, Iowa; three step-grandchildren, Heidi, Haley, and Hunter Gottman all of Centerville, Iowa; four brothers, Kerry Morlan of Centerville, Iowa, Kevin Morlan of Winterset, Iowa, Kent (Marla) Morlan of Moulton, Iowa, and Kyle Morlan of Olathe, Kansas; three sisters, Janel (Craig) Jannusch of Morgan Hill, California, Janan Richardson of Austin, Texas, and Jara (John) Kincart of Madrid, Iowa; an uncle Clayton (Betty) Morlan of Cameron, Missouri; mother-in-law Norma Thomas of Centerville, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gene ""Keith"" and Joyce Morlan; his father-in-law Laurel ""Gene"" Thomas, and a brother-in-law, Sam Richardson.
Funeral Services will be held 11 AM, Friday, May 24, 2013 at the Moulton Christian Church in Moulton, Iowa with Pastor Reggie Higgenbottom officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Moulton, Iowa. A Memorial has been established to the Moulton Christian Church and may be left at the Lange Funeral Home & Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
