Keith Arnold's Obituary
Keith Bruce Arnold, 82, of Corydon, Iowa passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 at The Legacy Lodge in Chariton, Iowa. Keith was born September 14, 1935 to Guy & Martha (Smith) Arnold in Lucas County, Iowa. He is the sixth of seven children born to this union. Keith attended Chariton High School, graduating in 1953. On June 10, 1956 Keith was united in marriage to Phyllis Ann Stout. To this union, two children were born, Richard Alvin, and Joan Kay. Keith and Phyllis lived north of Chariton until 1965. They then moved to Wayne County where they continued to farm until now. In 1988 Keith, along with help from others, began to build a new house, moving in the following year. Keith enjoyed visiting with friends and family and liked to play pitch. From 2006 to 2012 Keith served as a board member for the Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative. Survivors include his wife: Phyllis Arnold, two children; Richard Alvin Arnold (Nancy), and Joan Kay Hardcastle; his sister Ruby V. James of Lincoln NE, and numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Orval R. Arnold, Homer W. Arnold, and Kenneth H. Arnold, and two sisters: Elma V. Pastrick and Effie M. Pierschbacher. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon, Iowa with Rev. Diane Olson-Schroeder officiating. Visitation will be 5-7p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to The Legacy Lodge in Chariton and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com.
