Kathryn "Kathy" Louise Huffman's Obituary
Kathryn "Kathy" Louise Huffman, age 75, of Marion, Iowa, passed away Monday, March 24, 2025 at Silver Oak Nursing Home in Marion.
Kathy was born on August 6, 1949 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Harold Henderson Risher and Marie Kathryn (Starcevich) Risher. She was raised in Mystic, and graduated from Centerville High School with the Class of 1967. She furthered her education, earning her nursing degree. On January 15, 1972, Kathy was united in marriage to John Huffman. To this union, two sons were born, John Jr. and Jeff.
Kathy worked as a nurse at MercyOne Medical Center in Centerville. In her free time, Kathy enjoyed crocheting, knitting, baking, cooking, reading her bible and helping people. She also cherished every moment spent with her family.
Left to cherish Kathy's memory are her loving husband of 53 years, John Huffman; her children, John Huffman Jr., and Jeff (Cammy) Huffman; her grandchildren, Kalanna Proctor, Hannah Huffman, Gracy Brown, Emma Huffman, Paten Brown, and Connor Huffman; as well as several extended family members and friends.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Marie Risher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville with Fr. Ron Hodges officiating. Burial will follow the service at Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. Visitation will take place Saturday, March 29, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 12:00PM-2:00PM.
