Kathleen M. Schmidt's Obituary
Kathleen M. Schmidt, age 67 of Albia, Iowa, passed away Monday, July 18, 2016 at her home.
She was born on September 30, 1948 in St. Petersburg, Florida, the daughter of William and Virginia (Schilling) MacIver. Kathleen graduated from high school in Souderton, Pennsylvania.
Kathleen was united in marriage to John A. Schmidt on February 17, 1968 at the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Sumneytown, Pennsylvania. This year the couple celebrated forty eight wonderful years of marriage together.
Kathleen worked in the accounting field for many years. She also earned and maintained her Insurance license during her working career.
She was extremely passionate about gardening. In point of fact, she achieved the title of Master Gardener. Furthermore, Kathleen loved to share her gardening knowledge with others. She also enjoyed arts (particularly folk art) and crafts. Kathleen loved all animals, especially her pets.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, John A. Schmidt of Albia, Iowa; a son-in-law, Erik (Sarah) Mohrey of Unionville, Iowa; two sisters, Bobbi Grant of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Dorothy M. Dimpter of New Hope, Pennsylvania; two nieces, Yvonne Parnell of Tallahassee, Florida and Danielle Nichols of St. Petersburg, Florida; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Kathleen Michelle Mohrey.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM, Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Lange Funeral Home in Moravia, Iowa. Memorials have been established to the Family of Kathleen M.
