Kathleen Hancox's Obituary
Kathleen Hancox, 95 of Corydon passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Wayne County Hospital in Corydon. Kathleen was born on February 11, 1921 in Wayne County to Jasper & Cora (Darrah) Parker. Kathleen received her education from Sewal High School. Kathleen was united in marriage to Paul Hancox. To this union came three children, Wayne, Allen and Paula. Kathleen was a homemaker. She enjoyed taking care of the house and family as the kids were growing up. She enjoyed making quilts, reading books, playing cribbage and going for walks. In her younger years she had a nice garden every summer. Of all her enjoyments, nothing came before spending time with her grandkids. Survivors include her children; Wayne Hancox (Jan) of Marion, Iowa, Allen Hancox (Linda) of Atkins, Iowa, Paula Poli (Jim) of Clive, Iowa, seven grandchildren; Scott Hancox (Lindy) of North Liberty, Iowa, Greg Hancox (Sarah) of Solon, Iowa, Rick Hancox (Lisa) of Cedar Rapids, James Hancox (Jenny) of Marion, Iowa, Sheri McCormick (Mike) of Marion, Iowa, Chris Poli (Brandy) of Waukee, Iowa, Jason Poli of Waukee, 18 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Rosanna Parker of Seymour. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Hancox, three siblings: Robert Parker, Richard Parker, Jeanie Miskimins and her parents. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 8, 2016 at Thomas-Randolph Funeral Home in Seymour. Interment will follow immediately at Southlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be the Thursday from 1-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Sewal Community Center and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com.
