Kathleen L. Gibford's Obituary
Kathleen L. Gibford, age 85 of Centerville, passed away September 6, 2007 at Centerville Nursing and Rehab, Centerville, Iowa.
Kathleen was born June 17, 1922, the daughter of Loyd and Myree (Jackson) Baldwin in Gilman, WI, where she attended the local schools. Kathleen enjoyed reading, sewing, needlework, traveling, but especially enjoyed baking and cooking, and loved sharing them with family and friends. Kathleen accepted the Lord as her Savior in 1975 and became a great asset to her church and Pastor. She was a member of the Bethel United Pentecostal Church in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Wilma Hansen of Newton, Iowa; her sons, Ted Phipps of Arkansas, and Billy Phipps of Centerville, Iowa; three sisters, Caroline Waits of Centerville, Iowa, Etta Piper, and LaQuita Chezum; three brothers, Rayes Soto, Jim Soto, and John Soto; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Gibford; her son Lowell ""Pete"" Phipps and 5 siblings.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, September 8, 2007 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Pastors Mark Waits, John Soto, Jay Allison and Donald Baker officiating. Burial will follow at the Main Station Cemetery near the Rathbun Lake. A visitation will be held Saturday morning with the family present from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the family's choice and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
