Karen Foster's Obituary
Karen Marie Sparks Foster, 59, of Allerton, passed away on November 27, 2020 of natural causes. She was born in Boone, Iowa on December 9, 1960 to William and Betty (Brown) Sparks. Karen was a very dedicated mother and grandmother who never gave up on anyone or anything. She devoted her life to her children and put others before herself. Karen loved her two dogs: Lucy and Jaxx. They were her "fur babies" and meant the world to her. She enjoyed gardening and tended to many plants and flowers; her favorites being sunflowers and yellow roses, just as her mother adored too. Karen loved to go for a ride on the Harley. She even had a tattoo that said, "Live to Ride and Ride to Live" and that is exactly what she did. She rode every Harley that life had handed her with strength, courage and fortitude. Karen is survived by her companion, Denny Knutson of Allerton; daughters: Amber Foster (Joshua Smith) of Copan, Oklahoma and Stephanie Foster of Leon; son, Spencer Foster of Newton; grandchildren: Macy, Nathan, Payton, Silas and Scarlett; sisters: Kathy (Dean) Schaefer of Britt, Iowa and Sue (David) Olsen of Danbury, Wisconsin as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and other loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Butch Sparks of Ogden, Iowa. Per Karen's request, no services will be held at this time. Memorials may be made to the Autism Society of Iowa and online condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com or facebook.com/thomasfuneralhome. Karen was the definition of unconditional love, a devoted mother, friend and woman. This world has lost one of the greatest women we've ever known, but Heaven has gained a TRUE angel!
