Karen Rose Cowan's Obituary
Karen Cowan, 80 of Centerville passed away Friday, March 25, 2022 at Mercy One Centerville. Karen was born to Ralph and Lorene (Dole) Wood on January 6, 1942 in Cincinnati, Iowa. She received her education from Cincinnati High School, graduating in 1960. On June 26, 1960, Karen was united in marriage to Larry Cowan. To this union came three children: Greg, Geoff and Gaylon. Karen loved her family, loved her farm and spent her entire life with both. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing and camping. Karen was a member of P.E.O and was very active in the Lighthouse Church of Nazarenes Easter Drama. Survivors include her husband, Larry, sons: Greg Cowan (Cindy), Geoff Cowan (Julie), Gaylon Cowan (Charity), grandchildren: Gavin Cowan (Regena), Lisa Katter (Todd Barker), Nicole Kramer (Seth), Garrett Cowan (Hailey), Joel Cowan, Gabe Cowan, Hannah Cowan, Tanner Cowan (Ashley), Bryer Cowan (Meghan), Chasity Cowan, 16 great grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a brother, Robert Wood. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Interment will immediately follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 11:00 AM 1:00 PM.
