Karen Sue Cosgrove's Obituary
Karen Sue Spiker Cosgrove, 59, of Fairfield, Iowa, formerly of Centerville, passed away Friday, August 9, 2024 in Iowa City, Iowa.
She was born on April 11, 1965 in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Walter Spiker and Mary Weisinger.
Karen was a quiet person until you got to know her. Once you got to know her, it was hard not to love her. She was someone anyone could speak to, and she would help any of her friends and family out anytime she could. In her free time, she enjoyed watching tv and movies, especially Sweet Home Alabama and old western shows like Gunsmoke. She was also fond of playing pool, and games on her phone. Karen had a deep affection of motorcycle rides, especially with her boyfriend, Tim. She also loved all of her cats, but loved her grandchildren the most.
Left to cherish Karen's memory are her father, Walt (Rhonda) Spiker; significant other, Tim Howard; children, Tasha McKim, Veronica Moser, Damian Moser and Samantha (Eric) Thompson; step-children, Rosa Paxton, Jena (Tate) Roland and Sara (Ross Sr.) Welch; grandchildren, Emmajen McKim, Elana McKim, Zander McKim, Brinleigh Sparks, Bryleigh Sparks, Brayleigh Sparks, Breckin Sparks, Rylie Lane and Jaxon Thompson; step-grandchildren, Allison Paxton, Maleeya Herr, Leeloo Schramm, Tearza Schramm and Ross Welch Jr.; siblings, Tammie Spiker, Jeremy Thomas, and Justin Thomas; nieces and nephews, Logan Dixon, Jada Dixon, Christian Thomas; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Weisinger; and a grandchild, Kaydence Moser.
Per wishes, Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held in the near future. An open memorial has been established and may be mailed to Thomas Funeral Home, ATTN: Cosgrove Family, 501 North 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
