June Gallo's Obituary
June Gallo was born February 5, 1925, in rural Appanoose County near Exline, Iowa. She was the third daughter of Irmel and Maggie (Baughman) Terry. June grew up on the family farm and graduated from Exline High School in 1944. She married Nick Gallo on February 10, 1945, at the Centerville Methodist Church. June and Nick moved to Winnetka, Illinois where they lived and worked for nearly 30 years. They returned to Centerville in 1973.
June passed away on March 29, 2025, having seen her 100th birthday the previous month. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 73 years, Nick, her parents, sisters Delores (Terry) Foster and Esther (Terry) McDanel. She is survived by her nephew, Dennis (and Marie) Foster, and niece Peggy Konecny.
June enjoyed going to lunch every Thursday with her friends, including Pat, MaryAnn, Susan, Florene, Haley, Rayetta, Jane, Dana, and Clayton.
She especially loved spending time with her friends Tami Swartz, Amber & Leo White, Kay Penninger, Joe and Shelli Minor, and Tom and Joni Davis.
Our memories of her love and friendship will be treasures to carry always.
Visitation will take place Friday, April 4, 2025 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 1:00PM-3:00PM. Burial will follow at Exline Cemetery.
