Julius William Tortat's Obituary
Julius William Tortat, age 82, of Centerville, Iowa died Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Centerville Nursing & Rehab Center in Centerville, Iowa. He was born the son of William and Vera Grace (Parsen) Tortat in Minnesota on May 23, 1924. He received his education in a Rural Wapello County Country School.On July 23, 1968, Julius was united in marriage to Irene H. Clayworth in Kirkville, Iowa. Julius farmed on his family's farm and worked at Easter Bakery in Ottuwma, Iowa for over 12 years. He moved to Confidence, Iowa in 1976. Julius worked as a trucker for the Russell Oil Company for several years. After his retirement, he mowed several lawns around Centerville.He was preceded in death by: his parents and a sister, Margaret Coston.Julius is survived by: his wife, Irene Tortat of Centerville; Five daughters, Norma Pearson and her husband, Lloyd of Fremont, Iowa, Nancy Stevens and her husband, Jim of Centerville, Iowa, Sherry Ingalls and her husband, Darrell of Sioux City, Iowa, Susan Moore of Confidence, Iowa and Charlene Fisher and her husband, Jim of Lamoni, Iowa; brother, Frank Tortat of Keosauqua, Iowa; Sixteen grandchildren and Twelve great-grandchildren.His body has been cremated and the family will have a memorial service on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at 1 pm at Trinity Faith Church in Promise City, Iowa.
