Julie Ann Shuey's Obituary
Julie Ann (Gesell) Shuey, of Promise City, formerly of Waterloo, passed away Monday, August 1st at Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer. Julie was born August 8, 1964, daughter of Thomas and Judith Gesell. She married David Shuey on August 1, 1997. Julie graduated from West High School and worked various jobs, including her most recent at Southern Iowa Oil in Corydon. Julie is survived by her husband, Dave of Promise City; parents Tom and Judy of Tiger, GA; sister, Lynda (Bart) Thompson, La Porte City; Brenda Ward (Volker Nisius), Kennesaw, GA; brother, Don Gesell (Tavius Elder), Atlanta, GA; a daughter Ashley Henninger; two sons Shain and Zach Henninger; and a stepdaughter, Ashley Jones. She is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Julie was an avid animal and nature lover. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, family and friends. Family requests any memorial contributions be made to the Best Friends Animal Shelter in memory of Julie Gesell Shuey.
