Judy K. Whitlow's Obituary
Judy Kay Whitlow, age 61, of Moravia, Iowa passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Judy was born February 6, 1949 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Lester and Edna (Farris) Cochran. She was raised in Moravia, Iowa and graduated from Moravia High School with the class of 1967. Judy married Larry Whitlow on May 25, 1974 in Unionville, Missouri. Larry preceded her in death on November 18, 1994.
She owned and operated a daycare in Moravia for foury-two years. Judy also worked at Fat Annie's on the northwest corner of the Moravia square.
In her free time Judy enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Judy was known by those around her to be very orderly. She always kept a ""clean home.""
Judy is survived by her three children, Dennis (Darcie) Whitlow of Centerville, Iowa, Joseph (Loretta) Whitlow of Newton, Iowa, and Kurt (Jessica) Whitlow of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren, Cayleigh, Kaden, and Gable Whitlow of Centerville, Iowa, and Hannah Whitlow of Newton, Iowa; five sisters, Wanda (Dean) Tomlin of Moravia, Iowa, Alta (Gene) Daniels of Centerville, Iowa, Donna (Tom) Romanco of Lovilia, Iowa, Carolyn Woodward of Moravia, Iowa, and Norma Thomas of Centerville, Iowa; and three brothers, Jim Cochran of Moravia, Iowa, Ted (Shalise) Cochran of Hays, Kansas, and Ed (June) Cochran of Centerville, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; her parents; father and mother-in laws, John and Eva Whitlow; and four brother-in-laws, Jerry Woodward, Gene Thomas, Bill Rogers, and Larry Sprouse.
Funeral services will be held 3PM Saturday afternoon, August 14, 2010 at the Church of the Nazarene, Moravia with Pastor Terry Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery south of Moravia, Iowa. Friends may call all day Friday, August 13 with the family present from 6 to 8pm at the Lange Funeral Home in Moravia.
