Judith Bea Bertelle's Obituary
Judith Bea Bertelle, 83, of Numa passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at
the Homestead Assisted Living and Memory Care in Centerville, Iowa.
Judith was born on June 11, 1942 to Margaret L. (Vaira) and John T. Bertelle in
Centerville, Iowa. She graduated from Centerville High School with the class of
1960. She attended Centerville Community College and Northeast Missouri State
University receiving a bachelor’s degree in business education and later a master’s
degree in business education. She taught at Oskaloosa High School for 36 years,
retiring in 2004 and returning to Numa.
Judy enjoyed many activities such as gardening, flowerbeds, reading, going for
walks, crafts, listening to music, and spending time with her pets.
She is survived by her sister, Patty of Numa. She was preceded in death by her
parents and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A private family graveside services will be held at Numa Cemetery. Memorials
have been established to Numa Cemetery or the American Alzheimer’s
Association, and may be mailed to Thomas Funeral Home, ATTN: Bertelle
