Joyce Peek Obituary's Obituary
Myrna Joyce Peek, 77 of LaPlata, Missouri formerly of Centerville, Iowa passed away Monday, November 15, 2010 from injuries received in an automobile accident in Moberly, Missouri. Joyce was born February 3, 1933 in Centerville to Carl & Bernice(Main) Long. She was united in marriage to Kermit Peek on June 3, 1950. He preceded her in death on January 24, 2004. Joyce received her education from Centerville Schools. She was a talented pianist, organist, accordion player and sang gospel with her family. In Joyce's younger years she was an avid square dancer. She also enjoyed camping, traveling with friends and family and wintering in Texas. Joyce was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and volunteered her help at Camp Victory in Livonia, Missouri and a children's orphanage in Progresso, Mexico. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Joyce is survived by two daughters; Deborah K. Hobart-Olson (Gary) of LaPlata, Donna Hall (Dan) of LaPlata, four grandchildren, Mike Hobart(Susan), Marsh Green(Pat), Kerri Seddon and Cody Hall, five great grandchildren, Natalie Green, Kersten McLeland, Bailey and Brook Manson, Logann Hall, one sister, Janice S. Jay(David) of Donna, Texas, sister-in-law, Zona Long of Centerville and several nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 19, 2010 at Thomas Funeral Home with Bill Eakins officiating. Visitation will be all day Thursday with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mt. Ararat Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Mt.
