Joseph V. Coady's Obituary
Joseph V. Coady Sr., age 78 of Centerville, Iowa passed away Friday, May 31, 2013 at his home surrounded by family.
He was born on April 5, 1935 in Albia, Iowa, the son of John and Vada (Gragg) Coady. Joe married Peggy Crowder on May 5, 1956 in Centerville. Peggy preceded Joe in death on December 15, 2006.
Joe loved trout fishing with his family and watching wrestling with his sons.
He is survived by his six children, Penny Dawson of Centerville, Iowa, Sheila Rod of Centerville, Iowa, Joe Coady Jr. of Centerville, Iowa, Mike Coady of Des Moines, Iowa, Dave (Ginger) Coady Davenport, Iowa, and Matt (Kerri) Coady of Cincinnati, Iowa; a very special family friend, Tina Miller; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Peggy; a son Danny Coady; two grandsons; a son-in-law, Dave Dawson; two brothers, Don and John Coady; and a sister, Ellen Fry.
A visitation will be held Monday, June 3, 2013 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville from 10-11 AM. At 11 AM, a funeral procession will be leaving Lange Funeral Home en route to Haines Cemetery north of Centerville for a graveside service with Pastor Holly Oden officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family and may be given to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
