Joseph Burger's Obituary
Joseph Burger, age 80, of Cincinnati, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025 at his home.
Joe was born on October 22, 1944 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Clifford and Leona (Starks) Burger. He graduated from Moravia High School with the Class of 1963. Joe was united in marriage to Wenlita Garlet on June 28, 2016.
Joe was a jack of all trades. He drove truck and farmed for most of his life. In his free time, he also built sheds and https://outhouses.As a classic car fan, Joe enjoyed taking his corvette and his other vehicles to car shows. He also loved buying cars and fixing them up to sell again. Joe was a friend that anyone could count on in any time of need. He was known to gift things to his friends, even refusing payment, just because they needed it. He was a gentle, kind soul, who spoke highly of his wife and family to his friends. Joe was a regular at breakfast at Mama's Dawn's Kitchen, and gained lifelong friends.
Left to honor Joe's memory are his wife, Wenlita Burger; his children, Jennifer (Derek) Oden and their children, Luke, Caleb and Cora Oden, and Janelle (Francis) Beecher and their child, Elias Christopher Beecher; his siblings, Virginia Dale and Stephen (Karen) Burger; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Leona Burger.
Visitation will take place Friday, May 23, 2025 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 10:00AM-12:00PM. A Celebration of Life service for Joe will be held at 12:00PM, Friday, May 23, 2025 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with Pastor Darrell Matlock officiating. Cremation will follow the service, per Joe's wishes.
