Jonathon "Jon" E. Harvey's Obituary
Jonathon 'Jon' Eugene Harvey, age 18, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at his home in Centerville, Iowa. He was born the son of Melissa (Hayes) Harvey-Barber and John Harvey on November 18, 1991 in Centerville, Iowa. He was a senior at Centerville High School.Jon's friends meant the world to him and there wasn't anything he wouldn't do to help them with whatever they needed. He had a profound love for his family. Becoming a uncle was one of the highlights of his life. Jon loved all sports and especially football, even a broken neck didn't stop him from playing the sport he loved.He is preceded in death by: father, John Harvey; maternal grandfather, Garold Eugene Hayes.Jon is survived by: his mother, Melissa (Hayes) Harvey-Barber; step father, Randy Barber; sister, Meshara and her husband Billy McAlister of Centerville, Iowa; nephew, Payton Jon McAlister of Centerville, Iowa; maternal grandmother, Phyllis Hayes Large of Centerville, Iowa; a special friend, Hannah Burke of Moravia, Iowa; several step-brothers and sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends.Funeral services will be held Friday, March 5, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Grace Tabernacle Church in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. David Welch and Rev. Brian Hargrave officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM with the family present from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.A memorial has been established in the families name and can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
