John A. Vicevich's Obituary
John A. Vicevich, age 94 of Centerville, Iowa, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at the Golden Age Care Center of Centerville, Iowa. He was born the son of Frank and Wilma (Grenko) Vicevich on May 25, 1914 in Centerville, Iowa. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School and Centerville Community Schools.John was first united in marriage with Rose Mitchell, with whom he shared six children, but later divorced. On August 26, 1972, John married Virginia Ranes in Centerville, Iowa. He worked for John Deere until retiring; he then owned and operated the South Side Welding Shop in Centerville, Iowa. John is preceded in death by: his parents, Frank and Wilma Vicevich; two brothers, Frankie Vicevich and Joe Vicevich; and three sisters, Mary Kozeliski, Frances Urbauer, and Ann Freeman. He is survived by: his wife, Virginia (Ranes) Vicevich of Centerville, Iowa; sons, Terry Vicevich, Tom Vicevich, Sam Vicevich, and Bill Vicevich all of Illinois, and Dennis Vicevich of Carbon Cliff, Illinois; his daughter, Sandra Vicevich of Breinigsville, Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews. Mass of resurrection will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2008, at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville, Iowa with Fr. Dennis Schaab, C.PPS officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery of Centerville, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 4, 2008 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville from 1:00 pm till 6:00 pm with the family present from 4:00 pm till 6:00 pm.
